PRP for the Hair Pre-Treatment Care

• Wash hair the morning before the procedure.
• Avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications for at least 3 days prior to treatment.
• Avoid taking blood-thinning and anti-inflammatory medications along with any supplements.
• Avoid taking Aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications.
• Avoid hair treatments at least 3 days prior to treatment.
• Limit or avoid alcohol consumption.
• Increase fluid intake the day.

PRP for the Hair Procedure

• The doctor takes a little blood from the patient, usually between 10 to 30 ml.
• Blood is treated in a centrifuge so only the enriched cells or platelets (PRP) remain.
• Highly concentrated Platelet Rich Plasma is injected into the scalp.

PRP for the Hair Post-Treatment Care

• Apply cold gel packs or ice to reduce any discomfort.
• Avoid alcohol and smoking for 3 days after treatment.
• Refrain from taking blood thinners for several days.
• Drink loads of water to help with healing process.
• Wash hair a day after treatment.
• May wear hat, or any headgear right after treatment.
• Avoid hair treatments up to 3 days after treatment.
• Repeat the procedure at 6 weeks intervals or as recommended by the doctor.
